Birnam Arts
Birnam Arts has been awarded £8,320 to subsidise Ballet School making classes affordable and inclusive.
Birnam Arts Ballet School is a structured, affordable community ballet programme for children and adults hosted at Birnam Arts. The project aims to build confidence, reduce isolation, connect people, develop fitness and performance skills and encourage an interest in the arts. It offers dance experiences for anyone (aged 4-99!) from the local or wider communities who wishes to discover the joy of dance, with an ethos of ‘dance for all’. It also offers the chance to make new friends and connect communities.
Birnam Arts is a multi-purpose arts, conference and community facility, owned and run by the local community in Dunkeld & Birnam, Highland Perthshire. Originally founded by a group of local residents as The Birnam Institute, it has operated continuously since the building opened in 1883, adding a modern extension in 2001 and changing its name to Birnam Arts in 2011.
