Pitlochry Repair Café
Pitlochry Repair Cafe has been awarded £4,000 to assist with the costs of planning and delivering 8 Repair Cafes in Pitlochry over a 12-month period and their second day-long RepairFest.
Pitlochry Repair Cafe was set up in October 2022 to try and reduce waste in the local area, promote repairing skills and learning across generations and to take action to reduce Scotland’s carbon emissions.
Since their inception they have welcomed over 1000 local people to their friendly, welcoming pop-up cafe hub which takes place in a community hall.
They currently have a bank of 48 volunteers with skills including sewing, textiles repair, jewellery and watch repairs, woodwork, small electrical appliance and computer repairs, bike repairs and maintenance, upholstery, ceramics and stained glass repairs
Their skilled volunteers have fixed over 650 items, preventing them from going to landfill.
