Award-winning actor lends his voice to Scotland’s iconic sound and light spectacular
One of Scotland’s most celebrated sons is set to bring a little extra magic to Perthshire this autumn, as award-winning actor, film maker and presenter Alan Cumming joins the cast of The Enchanted Forest’s landmark 25th anniversary show.
The Perthshire-born star has recorded a series of exclusive voice performances for Stop The Clock: The 25th Hour, this year’s original production which invites audiences to escape the rush of everyday life and lose themselves in a magical extra hour where time itself has slipped off course.
His voice will guide visitors through key moments of the immersive soundtrack, adding another layer of storytelling to the award-winning sound and light experience in Faskally Wood.
The announcement comes during an exciting new chapter for Cumming, following his return to Perthshire as Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre, reinforcing his commitment to the area’s thriving cultural scene.

For 25 years, audiences have travelled from across Scotland and beyond to experience the magic of The Enchanted Forest, and this year’s event promises to be our most ambitious and spectacular yet. Having Alan lend his voice to the story is the perfect addition to what is shaping up to be a truly unforgettable anniversary show.”

For a wee town, Pitlochry punches above its weight for creativity. The idea behind this year’s Enchanted Forest is wonderfully imaginative, and it was enormous fun to become part of that story.”
This year’s show, Stop The Clock: The 25th Hour, celebrates 25 years of The Enchanted Forest by imagining a world where time briefly stands still. Visitors are invited to leave reality behind and immerse themselves in a world of spectacular lighting, original music and magical storytelling.
As a registered charity, every ticket sold also helps support The Enchanted Forest Community Trust, which has distributed more than £650k to charities and community groups across Highland Perthshire while generating millions of pounds for the local economy.
The Enchanted Forest runs from 8 October to 8 November in Faskally Wood, Pitlochry.
