FAQs
Want to know more? Here are some of the most common questions about The Enchanted Forest
Questions About the Event
What is the Enchanted Forest?
The Enchanted Forest is a spectacular outdoor sound and light show which takes place in The Explorers Garden near Pitlochry. Spectacular lighting effects will be used to illustrate our theme as visitors make their way around the woodland garden. Visitors will be treated to a series of spectacular and choreographed mini sound and light shows while they follow the path around the woodland.
How long does the event last for?
You should be on site for between 60 to 90 minutes to fully appreciate the event. Ideally we expect you to walk around the forest more than once during your visit.
What time does the Enchanted Forest close?
The last admission time varies but will be no later than 9pm. The site closes approximately 60 minutes after the last admission time.
When do I have to arrive at The Enchanted Forest?
You should aim to be there no more than 10 minutes before the time shown on your tickets.
Questions About Visitors with Special Requirements
Is it suitable for children/elderly/disabled?
The event has been designed to cater for all ages and abilities. Around 40% of the network of paths are suitable for wheelchair/pushchair access. Wheelchair users and children under 3 years of age may attend The Enchanted Forest free of charge in 2011.
Can I take a pram with me as I have small children?
You can, but only if it folds up. Please be aware that there are some gradient steps that require navigation - although it is possible for pushchair users to pass through them with care.
Do you have wheelchairs or mobility scooters on site for public use?
No, you will be required to provide your own mobility aids, however please be aware that only 40% of the site is accessible by wheelchair and/or mobility scooter. Some types of mobility scooters are finding it a challenge getting over the safety ramps which are approximately 100mm high. If you have a smalled wheeled mobility scooter, we'd recommend you come with a wheelchair and carer instead.
Are dogs allowed at The Enchanted Forest
No, dogs are not allowed at The Enchanted Forest. The event attracts lots of people and that, combined with very hot lights, electricity cables and loud speakers situated at curious doggy level can make it too dangerous for our four legged friends.
Is strobe lighting used in the show?
Yes, the 2011 show has some strobe lighting effects which will be used at a slow pace.
I'm a photographer, can I use a tripod or monopod on site?
Yes, you are most welcome to bring a tripod or monopod to help with photographing the event. Just be careful not to block any pathways when you're creating your photographic masterpieces.
I want to purchase a family ticket but I can's see the option available online?
Family tickets are only available by phone. Please call 0871 288 7655.
