Perthshire
Big Tree Country: The Perthshire Big Tree Country initiative is a partnership approach
to improving and promoting the rich woodland heritage of Perthshire.
Partners include Perth & Kinross Council, VisitScotland Perth,
Scottish Natural Heritage and Scottish Enterprise Tayside, and
it is chaired by the Forestry Commission Scotland.
Forestry
Commission Scotland: Forestry Commission Scotland serves as the forestry department
of the Scottish Executive, advising on implementing forestry
policy. Its mission is to protect and expand Scotland’s
forests and woodlands and increase their value to society and
the environment.
VisitScotland: VisitScotland, as Scotland’s National Tourism Organisation,
has a strategic role to develop Scottish tourism in order to get
the maximum economic benefit for Scotland. It exists to support
the development of the tourism industry in Scotland and to market
Scotland as a quality destination.
Perth & Kinross
Council: Perth & Kinross Council and their partners are currently working
to develop Perthshire’s events strategy. The strategy will
build on the success and achievements of events which currently
take place in Perthshire and look to enhance the profile of the
area nationally and internationally through the attraction of new
events.

Countryside Trust:
Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust was established in 1967 to
provide and promote high quality opportunities for access and recreation.
In addition to developing strategic routes for walkers, cyclists
and horse riders, it undertakes major projects such as the management
and promotion of the Cateran Trail – Scotland’s only
circular long distance route.
